NY FBI Head Forced Out For Hiding Epstein Documents

A major shake-up has hit the FBI, with one of its high-ranking officials abruptly stepping down.
According to NBC News, James Dennehy, who led the FBI’s New York office, resigned unexpectedly, just days after revelations surfaced that his division had withheld thousands of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
“Late Friday, I was told I needed to submit my retirement papers today, which I just did,” Dennehy reportedly stated in an internal email obtained by NBC. “I wasn’t given a reason for this decision.”
Sources confirmed to NBC that Dennehy was presented with an ultimatum: resign or be fired. He opted for the former.

Attorney General Pam Bondi previously disclosed that the FBI had been holding back a significant cache of Epstein-related files. She set a firm deadline for their full release by the morning of February 28 and initiated an investigation into why they had been withheld.
Despite expectations, last Thursday’s release of the first batch of “Epstein Files” left many frustrated. The heavily redacted 120-page document—provided exclusively to select media figures—largely recycled information already known to the public.

Dennehy had also been in the spotlight for an email he sent to his team after the Trump administration sought a list of FBI personnel involved in investigations into January 6 defendants and other Trump-related cases. At the time, then-acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll refused to turn over the requested names.
Dennehy addressed internal tensions in his email, stating: “Right now, we’re in the middle of our own battle, as good people are being forced out of the FBI while others are being targeted simply for doing their jobs by the book.” He concluded with, “Time for me to dig in.”
The question remains: Will the Epstein files finally be released in full? The American people deserve the truth—without redactions or delays.
