In a significant boost for American industry, German multinational Siemens has announced a $10 billion investment plan to expand its manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI) operations in the United States. The investment underscores America’s growing role as a global leader in industrial innovation and advanced technology.
At a time when economic uncertainty has driven businesses and investments overseas, Siemens’ commitment highlights the importance of pro-growth economic policies that foster domestic manufacturing and job creation.
New Advanced Manufacturing Facilities in Texas and California
As part of its expansion, Siemens will open two new high-tech manufacturing facilities in Fort Worth, Texas, and Pomona, California. The company has allocated $285 million to these projects, which will create more than 900 skilled manufacturing jobs.
These facilities will significantly expand Siemens’ production capacity for electric equipment, which is essential for powering critical infrastructure and AI-driven data centers across the country.
Siemens Acquires Michigan-Based Altair Engineering
In addition to its manufacturing expansion, Siemens has completed the acquisition of Altair Engineering, a Michigan-based company specializing in industrial software and AI. This marks Siemens’ largest-ever investment in AI-driven design and simulation technology.
The integration of Altair’s technology will allow Siemens to enhance its capabilities in smart manufacturing, product safety, and efficiency, positioning the United States at the forefront of industrial AI innovation.
Siemens’ Long-Term Commitment to U.S. Industry
With a workforce of over 45,000 employees in the U.S. and collaborations with 12,000 American suppliers, Siemens has been a key player in advancing U.S. manufacturing and technology. Over the past two decades, the company has invested over $90 billion in the United States, with this year’s commitment pushing that total beyond $100 billion.
Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG, emphasized the company’s belief in the strength of American industry:
“The industrial technology sector is the foundation for boosting U.S. manufacturing, and Siemens is uniquely positioned to lead this transformation. We believe in the innovation and strength of America’s industry, and this investment will create more jobs, advance technology, and enhance AI capabilities nationwide.”
Strengthening America’s Industrial Leadership
Siemens’ investment represents a significant step toward reinforcing the United States as a global leader in manufacturing and industrial AI. By expanding domestic production and technological capabilities, the company is contributing to a more resilient, competitive, and innovative American economy.
